PM Surya Ghar Muft Bijli Yojana: Many ambitious schemes are being run by the government in the interest of the people. In this episode, the government has started the Free Electricity Scheme. The objective of the Pradhan Mantri Surya Ghar Free Electricity Scheme is to provide free electricity to more than one crore houses in India. Under this scheme, 300 units of free electricity are provided every month.
Under this scheme, a house consuming up to 300 units every month saves Rs 15,000 annually by installing a roof top solar unit of 3 kW capacity.
The family that generates electricity on its own will save Rs 1800 to Rs 1,875 on the monthly bill. Apart from reducing the cost of their electricity, homeowners can earn money by selling excess electricity to DISCOM.
How much subsidy on PM Surya Ghar Muft Bijli Yojana
Under this scheme, 40 percent of the extra system cost is subsidized for systems with 2 to 3 kW capacity. At the same time, 60 percent of the cost of the solar unit is covered for systems up to 2 kW capacity.
There is a limit of 3 kW capacity on subsidy. As per the current benchmark rates, 1 kW system will get a subsidy of Rs 30,000, 2 kW system Rs 60,000 and 3 kW or more system Rs 78,000.
Step 1
First of all, register on the portal.
Select your state and electricity distribution company.
Enter your electricity consumer number, mobile number and email.
Step 2
Login with consumer number and mobile number
Apply for rooftop solar as per the form
Step 3
Once you get feasibility approval, get the plant installed from any of the registered vendors
Step 4
Once the installation is complete, submit the plant details and apply for net meter.
Step 5
After installation of net meter and inspection by the discom, commissioning certificate will be generated from the portal.
Step 6
Once you get the commissioning report. Submit the bank account details and a cancelled cheque through the portal. You will receive your subsidy in your bank account within 30 days.
