Bajaj Freedom 125 CNG Motorcycle Launched: Bajaj Auto on Friday announced the launch of the much-awaited Freedom CNG Motorcycle in the Indian market. Freedom 125 is the world’s first CNG-powered motorcycle.
The new 125cc commuter runs on petrol and CNG. Like a CNG-equipped car, and the dual-fuel setup aims to significantly reduce running costs compared to other commuters in the same segment. The ex-showroom price of Bajaj Freedom 125 starts at Rs 95,000. Bookings for this new offering have started with the launch on Friday.
Bajaj Auto MD Rajiv Bajaj, while talking about the new motorcycle, said that this bike uses the world’s first “CNG-hybrid” technology.
He assured that the company will take full care of the customers when it comes to the new CNG product. Sharing the details of this latest product, Rajiv Bajaj jokingly said, “Isko humari Bajaj ki guaranty hai sir.”
Bajaj Freedom 125 Dual Fuel Tank
The Bajaj Freedom 125 CNG motorcycle promises to reduce consumption by almost 50 percent with a smaller petrol fuel tank. A switch is provided on the right side of the handlebar, allowing you to switch between both fuel options. The CNG cylinder is placed under the petrol tank.
Bajaj Freedom 125 Look
In terms of looks, the Freedom 125 doesn’t look very different from its rivals. However, the filler nozzles for the CNG and petrol tanks are different. Of which there is a pressurized storage setup for the CNG and a different mechanism for the conventional petrol tank. The petrol tank capacity is 2 liters while the CNG tank capacity is 2 kg.
Bajaj Freedom 125 Mileage
Bajaj claims that the Freedom 125 can run up to 213 km on just CNG. While the petrol tank can run 117 km. Overall, the bike promises a range of 330 km.
Bajaj Freedom 125 Specifications
The bike is powered by a 125 cc single-cylinder, air-cooled engine with fuel injection. This engine generates 9.4 bhp of power and 9.7 Nm of peak torque. It is mated to an X-speed gearbox. Other hardware components include telescopic forks at the front and a monoshock at the rear. For braking performance, a disc brake is provided at the front and a drum brake setup at the rear. The bike runs on 17-inch alloy wheels.
Bajaj Freedom 125 Look and Design
The styling of the new Bajaj Freedom 125 is more simple and modern-retro. The bike gets a round headlamp with DRL. The flat seat, wide handlebar and center-set foot pegs give it a neutral riding position. The bike also gets a semi-digital instrument console with several tail indicators including CNG low-level alert and neutral gear indicator.

Bajaj Freedom 125 Variants and price
The Freedom CNG 125 bike will be made available in three variants. Which includes drum, drum LED and disc LED. The drum variant has been priced at Rs 95,000, while the middle drum LED variant is priced at Rs 1.05 lakh. At the same time, the top-spec disc LED variant is priced at Rs 1.10 lakh. All three prices are ex-showroom.
