Trump supporters saw these images as a symbol of the former president’s resilience and combativeness. Trump said a bullet grazed the upper part of his right ear. According to the Butler County district attorney, the shooter and a passerby have died.
Reactions: Several vice presidential candidates and senators present at the rally expressed their support for Trump. Billionaire Elon Musk wished Trump a speedy recovery on Twitter. David Urban, an informal Trump adviser, said he hoped the shooting would unite the American people behind Trump.
